RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS
RESEARCHING AND UNDERSTANDING ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION, IS AT THE HEART OF WHAT WILL DRIVE INNOVATION IN THE FUTURE. THROUGH THE INSTALLATION OF A SUITE OF LABORATORIES IN A STRATEGIC LOCATION, BEESG WILL ESTABLISH THE ANALYTICAL CAPACITY TO MONITOR IMPROVEMENTS IN ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE FROM THE UPGRADED WASTE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND THE RESULTANT POSITIVE IMPACTS ON THE COMMUNITY, OUR ENVIRONMENT AND OUR HEALTH. THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THIS LABORATORY WILL ALSO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL AND SCIENCE-BASED EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOCALS AND VISITING SCIENTISTS AND STUDENTS WHILST MEETING THE CURRENT GAP IN ANALYTICAL SERVICES.
We live in a culture of consumerism, which has resulted in a high per capita rate of waste generation and the high proportion of manufactured goods in the waste stream. In Bermuda and other island nations, a lack of ready access to parts for repairs, coupled with high service charges, leads to many vehicles and appliances being dumped long before their projected service lives have expired. BEESG has explored this and presents an option for the creation of a new, recycling and repair based industry.
Our research program focuses on detailed evaluation of:
- Waste stream characterisation;
- Environmental impact assessments;
- Evaluation of regulatory compliance issues; and
- Identification of the most promising technology.
BEESG also researches and develops financial solutions and identifies all necessary agreements as required for implementation. The results of these investigations will be compiled as a fully detailed proposal submitted for consideration of the client and/or responsible Government.
